At the beginning of the New Year, good news has come in quick succession.

After testing and rigorous examination of a long period carried out?by BIS, CECEP Solar Energy Technology (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhenjiang Company) obtained the?certificate?for photovoltaic modules issued by BIS on January 9.

The testing on?Zhenjiang Company for the BIS certificate began in July 2018 and it was conducted?by Hyphixis Laboratory.

After evaluation on mechanical structures, electrical safety, weather resistance and fire prevention of products, it was found that the modules produced by Zhenjiang Company fully met the requirements of BIS’s?relevant?standards.

The certification of BIS is carried out?in accordance with The BIS Act, 1986, and it?is aimed to provide final consumers with quality-guaranteed, safe and reliable products.

For all products required for compulsory certification, overseas manufacturers must test them in BIS-accredited laboratories in India in accordance with the standards of IS 14286, IS 61730-I and IS 61730-II.

Photovoltaic modules were included in the category of products required for compulsory certification of BIS in 2018, which means that module manufacturers must pass the certification of BIS?before they are allowed to enter the Indian market.

This certificate of BIS is a "pass" for foreign products to enter the Indian market, and it is widely recognized in India and its neighboring countries. The products that have passed the certification are considered as high-quality products in India.

Obtaining the certificate has provided a guarantee for Zhenjiang Company to exploit the Indian market in the future.
